The AMD Zen 3 architecture, first introduced with the Ryzen 5000 series, is still strong—even three generations later. Without much publicity, AMD has released six new processors across the Ryzen 7, Ryzen 5, and Ryzen 3 lineups, featuring 4, 6, and 8 cores. The Ryzen 5000G/GE series has TDP ratings between 35W and 65W and includes integrated Vega graphics.
This isn’t the first or second time AMD has extended the life of an older processor lineup. By continuing to support AM4, even alongside the newer AM5 platform (introduced with Ryzen 7000 in September 2022), AMD has ensured long-term viability for existing users—something the company expects to continue for years.
The newly announced Ryzen 5000G processors from AMD come with some notable surprises, including support for DDR4 memory and a PCIe 3.0 interface—both inherent limitations of the AM4 platform.

AMD has not revealed pricing, a release date, or details on availability for OEMs or specific retailers. However, given the age of the Zen 3 architecture, these new Ryzen 5000G chips are expected to be affordable options for entry-level PCs. Despite this, a 5th-generation Ryzen 7 still offers solid performance for budget-conscious users.
