As CES 2025 approaches, rumors about potential announcements are gaining traction. According to Moore’s Law is Dead, AMD is expected to unveil its RDNA 4-based Radeon RX 8000 series graphics cards at the event, with at least one model making its debut.
While the specific GPU set to introduce AMD’s new graphics architecture hasn’t been confirmed, the company will likely lead with a high-performance chip, as has been tradition with past releases. However, the term “top of the line” might not refer to an RX 8900 XTX, as AMD is rumored to be stepping away from the ultra-high-end segment.
Instead, the flagship of this generation could be something like an RX 8800. Although details remain scarce, AMD CEO Lisa Su has already hinted that the RDNA 4 GPUs will be officially announced in early 2025, leaving enthusiasts eager for what CES has in store.
RTX 50 and Arc Battlemage
In its latest video, Moore’s Law is Dead shares insights about NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce RTX 50 GPUs. According to sources connected to NVIDIA’s partner retailers, the Blackwell-based gaming graphics cards are expected to be unveiled and possibly launched during CES 2025. The models likely to debut are the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, marking a significant step forward for NVIDIA’s next-gen lineup.
On the other hand, Intel appears to be focusing on the Arc B580 GPU, which is set to launch this year. This graphics card is expected to deliver performance comparable to the RTX 4060 and RX 7600 XT, with a 5% to 15% improvement over Intel’s first-generation Arc A770. However, other GPUs from Intel’s Battlemage lineup may face delays, pushing their release into 2025.
For Intel, the success of the Arc Battlemage series is critical. According to earlier reports, strong sales are necessary to sustain their long-term roadmap for multiple generations of GPUs. This makes the performance and reception of the Arc B580 pivotal for Intel’s position in the competitive GPU market.
