Microsoft knows how crucial the gaming world is to its sales. Recognizing this, they started integrating RGB lighting from gaming peripherals into Windows settings a few years ago. This move provides manufacturers with a standardized way to manage and synchronize these lights, creating a more cohesive and unified gaming experience.

Asus is already working on integrating its RGB lighting with Windows 11
In September 2023, Microsoft introduced a groundbreaking Windows 11 update that transformed PC customization. This update enabled users to control the RGB lighting of their hardware components directly from the operating system, eliminating the need for third-party applications.
Initially, this functionality supported Razer, HyperX, Logitech, and MSI devices. ASRock and Asus also joined in, with Asus currently testing its beta BIOS for Intel and AMD-based motherboards. Users should be cautious when installing these beta BIOS updates, but those willing to risk can customize colors, animations, and brightness from Windows 11 settings.
This approach offers a more convenient way to manage RGB lights, streamlining the process and making it faster and easier to handle different lighting setups from various manufacturers.
There are still no details on the general availability of this feature from Asus. However, more information is expected in upcoming Windows Insider builds and monthly Patch Tuesday updates. This could enhance the user experience, making RGB lighting customization more accessible and integrated.
