Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 upscaling support is “broken”

By Aayush

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is facing significant issues implementing major upscaling technologies, including NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS. Many players report that these features aren’t delivering the hoped-for performance boosts.

A Reddit user known as Important_Shake_1491 shared his findings, revealing that enabling any of these upscale leads to a staggering 40% drop in frame rates before any improvement kicks in. He noted that similar issues were observed in the last few seasons of Modern Warfare III, and Activision hasn’t addressed them yet.

In his post, he conducted benchmark tests on various PC setups, including one with an Intel Core i9-12900H paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Mobile GPU and another featuring an Intel Core i9-9900K alongside an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080. Both configurations exhibited the same drop in performance when features like DLAA and FSR 3 Native were turned on.

Given that many others have echoed these concerns, it appears that this is a more widespread issue, and it’s clear that Activision Blizzard needs to release an update quickly to fix it.

Developers usually respond to performance-related issues by communicating with the community. However, there’s been no word from either Activision or Treyarch regarding the frame rate drops associated with the upscaling options in Black Ops 6.

With high frame rates crucial for competitive gameplay, this problem could be a real headache for players looking to enjoy online multiplayer matches on PC.
