Originally known for straightforward web-based editing, Clipchamp expanded availability from personal subscriptions to now commercial Microsoft 365 plans. And with Microsoft resources lifting it up, the formerly niche video tool continues evolving slick new features.
Clipchamp makes video assembly approachable for novices, unlike complex traditional platforms. Between intuitive Clipchamp and veteran Movie Maker, Microsoft corners video production for all skill levels!
Baking Clipchamp directly into Microsoft 365 enables easy cloud collaboration and sharing for businesses, students, everyday folks, and anyone with a membership. That type of distribution and visibility spells major mainstream potential.
New audio features in Clipchamp
Today, the Office Insider blog announced some exciting new audio features now available to Clipchamp users. One of these features allows users to insert an audio recording into their video projects seamlessly.
Users can navigate to the “Audio” option located in the Record and Create tab within the app. From there, they can easily initiate the recording process for their audio clip, with a generous recording duration of up to 30 minutes.
This feature offers users greater flexibility and creativity in enhancing their video content with personalized audio elements.

Text-to-speech improvements
Clipchamp has recently enhanced its text-to-speech feature, making it more versatile and user-friendly. Now, users can easily incorporate a text-to-speech track element into their projects.
They can directly adjust various aspects such as language, voice, emotion, and tone from the properties panel. Additionally, users can edit the script conveniently within the same interface, allowing for seamless customization and refinement of their audio content.
Upcoming audio features in Clipchamp
Microsoft has unveiled another innovative audio feature that will soon be available on Clipchamp: silence removal. This feature is designed to streamline the editing process for users who may have audio tracks with prolonged periods of silence.
With silence removal, Clipchamp will automatically detect and remove some or all of these silent portions from the audio track, ensuring a smoother and more seamless listening experience. This enhancement promises to save users time and effort by eliminating the need for manual editing to remove silent intervals from their audio tracks.
