How to Connect PS4 and PS5 to Laptop or PC

Have you ever wanted to play PlayStation games on a different device, like your computer or phone? You’re lucky because Sony’s Remote Play feature allows you to do just that! It’s a neat trick that lets you stream your console’s games to another screen as long as your PlayStation is turned on and connected to the internet.

Here’s how you can set it up:

First, make sure your computer or laptop meets the minimum requirements. According to Sony, you’ll need a reasonably modern Intel processor (7th generation or newer) and at least 2GB of RAM. These specs ensure a smooth streaming experience, even though the game still runs on your PlayStation.

Once you’ve confirmed your device is up to the task, follow these simple steps:

1. Go to the Settings menu on your PlayStation and enable Remote Play.

2. Download the Remote Play app on your computer, phone, or tablet.

3. Sign in with your PlayStation account credentials.

4. Connect the app to your PSN profile (the chosen video game must be logged in to the same account you logged in via Remote Play);

5. Choose your PS4 or PS5 to pair (the game needs to be turned on and connected to the internet);

6. Pair and start playing.

And that’s it! You should now be able to see your PlayStation’s screen on your other device and start gaming remotely. Neat, right? Remember that you’ll need a decent internet connection for the best experience.

Pair your console with Remote Play using an activation code.

Another way to pair your console with Remote Play is by using an activation code. For this step, we used a PS4. Check it out below:

  1. Go to Settings in the console;
  2. Select the Connection Settings option for Remote Play;
  3. Then go to Register device and receive the code;
  4. In Remote Play, select the option “Manually Link”;
  5. Enter the code and connect to the console.

After entering the code, you can access the console without pairing it over the internet. And it is worth mentioning once again that, to be able to use the remote mode, the console needs to be turned on and connected to the internet.
