FUNCOM has officially announced the release date for Dune: Awakening, set to launch on May 20, 2025, on Steam. However, details regarding the game’s price have not yet been listed on the platform. For now, fans can add it to their wishlist.
Players can already get a sneak peek of the game, as the character creation system and benchmark mode became available for free download last Thursday (20). Any characters created during this period can be transferred to the full game upon release.
In the United States, pre-orders for Dune: Awakening have begun, with buyers receiving an exclusive “Terrarium of Muad’Dib” decoration as a bonus. While pre-orders have yet to open in Brazil, the game’s price has been set at $49.99 in the U.S.
Additionally, players who download the benchmark mode and character creator will receive a Frameblade knife skin, which can be redeemed once the game officially launches. To build excitement, FUNCOM has also released a new trailer, showcasing what players can expect from Dune: Awakening.
Dune Modes Available: Awakening
In Character Creation Mode, players can customize every detail of their character, including appearance, home planet, caste, and mentor. The chosen mentor determines the character’s starting skills, with options including Swordmaster, Bene Gesserit, Mentat, or Trooper. While this choice sets the initial path, players will eventually gain access to all skill “schools”, allowing them to mix and match abilities later in the game.
Meanwhile, Benchmark Mode lets players test their PC’s performance and compatibility with Dune: Awakening. This mode runs several in-game scenes, including a flight sequence with an ornithopter and an encounter with a massive sandworm.
