You cannot post a profile picture on Snapchat by default if it follows its traditional model. To add a picture of yourself to your Snapchat profile, you must first make your profile public on Snapchat so you can create an avatar (Bitmoji) in drawing format.v
The following steps were done on an iPhone 11 Pro but are the same on Android phones.
- Open the Snapchat app on your phone;
- On the home screen, tap the profile icon in the upper left corner;
- Go to “Create Public Profile”;
- Drag the screen to the side and tap “Start”;
- Confirm that you want a public profile by tapping “Create.”

- Open the Snapchat app on your phone;

- In “Public Profiles,” tap on “My Public Profile”;

A Snapchat Public Profile is only available to users over 18, must have been created for at least 24 hours, have at least one friend, and do not violate the Snapchat Community Guidelines.
