Instagram is a popular social network, and sometimes you might want to mute someone’s profile to stop seeing their posts or stories without unfollowing them.
The process is easy and quick, and you can do it directly from the person’s profile, a post in your feed, or even from their stories. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide!
How to mute someone on Instagram
Through the profile
1. Open the Instagram app and click the “Magnifying glass” icon at the top to search for the profile you want to mute.
2. With the profile open, click on “Following.”
3. with the menu open, click on “Mute”.
4. Then enable the option “Publications” or “Stories”. This way, you will no longer see this contact’s posts or stories.
Important: Instagram will not notify this contact that you have muted them. To see this content again, just access this tab and disable your chosen options.
Via a feed post
1. In a post on the Instagram homepage, click the “Three dots” icon above the post.
2. With the menu open, Select the item “Mute”.
3. You can then mute posts or posts and stories.
