Intel has unveiled its second generation of graphics cards, starting with the Arc B570 and B580. Among them, the Arc B580 stands out as the most powerful, and its performance on Geekbench 6’s Vulkan benchmark was leaked on Monday (9). The results reveal that Intel’s top-tier GPU outperforms AMD’s Radeon RX 7600 XT and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4060.
The Arc B580 scored 103,445 points in the Vulkan test, surpassing the Radeon RX 7600 XT, which peaks at 99,643, and the RTX 4060, which reaches 97,127.
However, the B580 lands between its competitors in OpenCL benchmarks, with NVIDIA’s RTX 4060 taking the top spot. It’s important to note that synthetic benchmarks like Geekbench don’t always accurately translate to gaming or real-world performance.
Compared to its predecessor, the Arc A580, the B580 substantially improves, delivering up to 30% better performance in Vulkan. This marks a significant leap between Intel’s first-generation Alchemist GPUs and the new Battlemage lineup.
Will Intel Arc B580 fight with RX 8000 and RTX 50?
These results indicate that Intel’s new flagship GPU, the Arc B580, is well-prepared to compete with entry-level offerings from AMD and NVIDIA. If Intel follows the pattern seen with its first generation and introduces a higher-tier model, it could rival mid-range GPUs like the RTX 4070 or RX 7700 XT, as earlier rumors have suggested.
However, the competitive landscape is about to shift, with AMD and NVIDIA preparing to unveil their next-generation GPUs. The Radeon RX 8000 series (RDNA 4) and GeForce RTX 50 series (Blackwell) are set to debut at CES 2025, scheduled for January 6–10. Some SKUs are even rumored to launch during the event.
The real test for the Arc B580 will be how it stacks up against the new entry-level GPUs from AMD and NVIDIA when they hit the market next year. Until then, Intel’s latest offering looks promising in its current position.
