Intel has confirmed its commitment to the desktop GPU market, dispelling rumors that it might halt production after the Arc “Battlemage” series. According to information shared by leaker Jaykihn on X (formerly Twitter), Intel is proceeding with plans to develop the next two generations of GPUs, Arc “Celestial” (Xe3) and “Druid” (possibly Xe4).
Speculation about Intel scaling back its GPU efforts began following a company statement emphasizing its focus on integrated graphics cards (iGPUs). Intel clarified, however, that its push to enhance iGPU performance doesn’t mean it is abandoning dedicated GPUs like Battlemage or canceling future lines.
Concerns were also raised about potential cancellations if Battlemage sales failed to meet expectations. Intel has refuted these claims, reaffirming that the Celestial and Druid GPUs remain on schedule. The Battlemage GPUs are set to launch in December, and Intel’s ongoing development of subsequent generations signals its intention to stay competitive in the graphics market.
Arc “Battlemage” approaches
According to a recent leak, Intel’s Arc “Battlemage” GPUs are set to launch on December 12th, with two models slated for release: the B570 and B580.
If this timeline is accurate, Intel is likely to reveal more details, including specifications, very soon. An official announcement is expected on Tuesday, December 3rd, providing a clearer picture of the GPUs’ performance and features.
The upcoming Battlemage series represents Intel’s continued push into the dedicated GPU market, aiming to compete with established players like NVIDIA and AMD.
