Lenovo has inadvertently released new firmware for the Legion Go S “8ARP1,” a portable gaming console that hasn’t yet been officially launched. According to details in the firmware, the console will be powered by an AMD Ryzen Z2 processor, tailored for high-performance gaming.

The firmware confirms that the Legion Go S will feature the “Rembrandt” CPU, which combines Zen 3+ and RDNA 2 architectures. However, no additional specifications about the console or its components have been disclosed.

Earlier leaks suggest that the Legion Go S will be a white, budget-friendly portable console designed without detachable controls. Positioned as a more affordable alternative to the current Legion Go with its Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, it is expected to have slightly reduced specifications, aligning with its lower price point.

When will we see the new Lenovo Legion Go S?

Recent leaks suggest that AMD is expected to unveil its Ryzen Z2 processors at CES 2025. This makes it likely that Lenovo will showcase the Legion Go S, along with other portable consoles, at the event.

Lenovo’s lineup is rumored to include at least three models powered by Ryzen Z2 processors. These include one with the “Rembrandt” architecture (Zen 3+ and RDNA 2), another with “Hawk Point” (Zen 4 and RDNA 3), and a third featuring “Strix Point” (Zen 5 and RDNA 3.5).

With CES 2025 just around the corner, running from January 7th to 10th, more details about Lenovo’s new portable gaming consoles and AMD’s Ryzen Z2 processors are expected to emerge soon.
