Microsoft has introduced a new AI-powered feature in its Bing search engine called “AI Search”, designed to provide summarized answers to search queries. According to Windows Latest, the tool is still being tested, but some users have already had the chance to try it out.
AI Search serves as a middle ground between traditional Bing search results and the AI-generated responses provided by Microsoft Copilot.
In this guide, you’ll learn:
- How to use AI Search
- How AI Search works
- Is AI Search available now?
How to use AI Search
To receive the summaries made with Ia by Bing, follow these steps:
- Open Bing (Bing.com) Browser or application
- Enter whatever is summarized in the search bar;
- Tap “more”;
- Select “Search” with the Copilot icon.
How Ai Search works
For example, if you search for “best destinations to travel in July”, instead of simply listing websites with relevant content, AI Search provides a summarized answer tailored to different travel preferences—whether you’re looking for beaches, mountains, or countryside getaways.
Unlike traditional search results, AI Search does not display a standard list of links. Instead, it generates a full-page summary while also including a section where users can review the sources used to compile the response.
The summary takes a few seconds to generate, allowing users to see the reasoning behind the AI’s answer. Google offers a similar AI-powered summary feature, but in Google’s case, the full-page response format is still in the testing phase.
Is Ai Search now available?
The tool is still in the testing phase but is already available for users.
The AI Search button is accessible on both PCs and mobile devices. However, according to Canaltech’s tests, the feature performs better on computers. On mobile devices, users frequently encounter an error message prompting them to try again.
We reached out to Microsoft for confirmation on the feature’s rollout but have not yet received a response.
