Microsoft has been actively integrating artificial intelligence across its products, and the company’s browser is no exception. Though some may be weary of heavy AI adoption, Microsoft has thoughtfully produced compelling new capabilities for its Edge browser on Windows and Mac devices.
One of the latest innovations utilizes AI for enhanced super-resolution graphics. By employing deep learning models trained on perceiving fine details in imagery, Microsoft can upscale and reconstruct visuals in Edge to pseudo-higher resolutions not rendered.
Now, the Early Canary Version of Edge hints at an AI Object Removal Tool.
Edge will allow you to eliminate objects using AI
Thanks to leaker Florian on X, formerly Twitter, we know that new functionality is hidden in Microsoft Edge Canary. The idea is to edit images without leaving the browser and without the need to leave our image. As we can see below, it will be very easy to eliminate what does not interest us easily.

We’ll soon have access to a range of tools, including various brush sizes for precise editing and an AI Enhancer feature aimed at enhancing image quality with a single click. It’s mentioned that more tools might be introduced in the future, which could include:
- AI Background Remover: Precision cropping and automatic foreground-background separation.
- Automatic Restoration and Colorization: Repairing old photos, removing scratches, and adding realistic colors.
- Creative Filters: Explore a range of filters to transform photos into unique works of art.
These tools offer significant advantages, such as not requiring additional software installations, and eliminating the need for heavy apps on devices. Plus, they’re accessible from any device with an Internet connection, making image editing convenient and hassle-free directly from your web browser.
