Microsoft Forms has released an update to revolutionize how online surveys are created and answered. This new feature allows users to set specific rules for responses, enhancing the quality and accuracy of the data collected.
Microsoft Forms and its new rules
With this new update, users can set detailed rules for survey responses. For instance, you can now require that responses include a specific word. This is easily done using the new drop-down menus and text boxes below the question interface, an advanced feature that further enhances Forms.
Another notable feature is the ability to set a minimum or maximum response length. Depending on the survey creator’s needs, this helps get more precise and concise answers or more detailed ones. The new “Required” option ensures answers follow a specific format.
If a response doesn’t meet the criteria, the respondent will get an error message to correct it. This can also be used to ask for extra details, like the respondent’s email, for follow-up questions.
These new features are now available to all users with a regular Microsoft account. Business users will also get access to these features soon, although the exact date hasn’t been announced yet.
