Microsoft continues its push to break down barriers and make its AI products accessible to all users. After bringing the benefits of the Copilot app to Windows, the company has now decided to launch a version for Mac, which is an exciting development.
According to reports from The Verge, Microsoft isn’t stopping there. The company is also strengthening its presence in the Apple ecosystem by updating the Copilot app for iPhone and iPad, signaling a broader AI expansion across Apple devices.
Microsoft launches the Copilot app for Mac
As mentioned earlier, the new Copilot app for Mac will give users access to all the AI-powered features of Microsoft’s assistant. It allows users to generate text and images, upload files for various tasks, and much more.
One of the most exciting features of this Mac version is the inclusion of dark mode, along with a quick access shortcut—simply press Command + Spacebar to activate the assistant, similar to how it works on Windows.
Initially, the app will be available in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. This is great news, as Copilot has evolved into a fully-fledged AI assistant that integrates seamlessly with operating systems, unlocking a wide range of possibilities.
But that’s not all—Microsoft has also updated the Copilot Notepad app, introducing features like split-screen mode. Additionally, users can now sign in to Copilot on iPhone and iPad using their Apple ID and even upload files, such as PDFs, to ask questions, generate summaries, and more.
While these advanced features will take some time to roll out to Copilot for Mac, it’s exciting to see them already available on iPhone and iPad. This means users can now handle text files more efficiently across their Apple devices.
And Microsoft isn’t stopping there—recently, it was revealed that the “Think Deeper” feature in Copilot is now free for multiple uses. This allows users to engage in much longer and more in-depth conversations with Microsoft’s AI.
With Microsoft Build 2025 just around the corner, we can expect even more exciting AI-related announcements soon.
