Microsoft will let you test Windows 11 features instantly

Microsoft develops a setup for Canary Channel users that will allow testing of new features as soon as they are ready. The idea is to let people experience everything immediately without waiting for the next Windows 11 update.

The option will sit on Windows Update as a toggle button that needs to be enabled. By turning on the “Get the latest updates as soon as they are ready for your PC” feature, the system will download everything new automatically and every time.

For now, the Software Giant only tests the button internally, without availability to the user. Even so, enabling the feature using the ViVeTool tool, an app that allows you to release new exclusive features from developers to Windows 11 testers, is possible.

How to get the latest Windows 11 updates

If you want to activate the recent updates feature — and several others provided by ViveTool —, follow the tutorial below:

ViVeTool will ask you to restart your PC to complete the process. After this step, you should be able to go to Windows Update and see the toggle button on the Settings tab.

Those interested in seeing Windows features firsthand should sign up for the Canary Channel, part of the Windows Insider beta program. It is not yet clear if this option will be extended to other users enrolled in the testing program, such as the Dev Channel or the Beta Channel, but so far, it is exclusive.

It is worth remembering that activating this option will leave your PC subject to features still under development, which may contain bugs or generate system failures. If you use your computer for leisure or work, it’s better to stick with just the stable version of Windows 11. If it’s an alternative machine, it might be interesting to see firsthand what Microsoft intends to deliver in the coming months to the people.
