New iPhone SE 4 could debut with Apple Intelligence at a lower price

The 4th-generation iPhone SE is anticipated to be revealed early next year, featuring just a single rear camera and Face ID. According to a new rumor by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, this smartphone will also integrate Apple Intelligence, Apple’s suite of AI features announced at WWDC 2024.

This AI suite, set to launch with iOS 18 in September, will initially only be supported by the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. This means the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus might not have these features, while the supposedly more basic iPhone SE 4 will include them.

With the introduction of the iPhone 16 series in September, Apple aims to offer full integration with Apple Intelligence across all new smartphones, enticing more consumers to their latest devices.

The iPhone SE 4 is expected in early 2025 and, based on past trends, will likely debut with the same processor as the latest mainline iPhones. Rumors suggest the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will feature the A18 chip, while the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will have the more powerful A18 Pro chip. Thus, the iPhone SE 4 will probably utilize the same processor as the standard models.

This upcoming entry-level phone from Apple is expected to have an iPhone 14 body, equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED display and Face ID in a notch at the top, maintaining the Dynamic Island as an exclusive feature for flagship models.

There are also strong indications that the iPhone SE 4 will launch with a single rear camera, although the resolution is still unknown, and will feature a metal body with a glass back.
