On Thursday (5), Sony released a new update for the PS5, version 24.08-10.40.00, bringing exciting improvements for those upgrading to a new console or switching to the PS5 Pro. The update simplifies the process of transferring data between consoles, making it much easier to move your content.
Additionally, the update enhances the PS5’s overall usability, improving the console’s performance and making its messaging system more seamless. These changes aim to create a smoother and more enjoyable user experience, addressing any issues that previously hindered the system’s functionality.
With the release of the PS5 Pro in November, Sony is focused on refining the system, fixing any instabilities, and enhancing features that weren’t working as intended.
In the patch notes, Sony reveals what has changed on the PS5 with the latest platform update.
“We have improved the process of transferring data from another PS5 and improved stability when transferring a large volume of data, such as captures.”
Earlier this week, Sony rolled out another update for the PS5, marking a special occasion for the company. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original PlayStation console, the update introduced a nostalgic touch.
The PS5’s startup screen was updated to resemble the classic design of the original model, bringing a wave of nostalgia to longtime fans. Additionally, special themes were included to honor the milestone, further enhancing the celebratory atmosphere for the console’s anniversary.
