The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is Qualcomm’s latest mid-range processor, announced Tuesday (20). It features improved performance and enhanced support for artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
Compared to its predecessor, this chip is 20% faster and provides a 40% boost in graphics processing speed (GPU). It also reduces energy consumption by 12%, helping to extend battery life.
The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 supports generative AI features, including translation and transcription in multiple languages. Qualcomm notes that it is compatible with language models like Baichuan-7B and Llama 2 with 1B parameters. Additionally, the chip offers a 30% increase in AI task performance.
Triple camera and 5G support
Qualcomm’s new processor also supports triple-camera setups and includes features for video editing. It offers spatial audio and supports the aptX Lossless codec, making it a solid choice for mid-range devices.
Additional features include 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.4, and gaming enhancements like Adaptive Perf Engine 3.0, VRS Pro, and AFME.
Qualcomm has announced that Xiaomi will be the first to release a device with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, which is expected to launch in September.
