The upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, which Qualcomm is expected to announce later this month, has been fully leaked on the Baidu network, revealing many of its key specifications and features. According to the leak, here’s what we can expect:
Memory and Storage:
- LPDDR5X RAM support: Contrary to earlier rumors that suggested LPDDR6 support, the leaked information confirms that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will stick with LPDDR5X memory.
- UFS 4.0 storage: The chipset will support UFS 4.0, capable of delivering read speeds up to 4,500 Mbps and write speeds of up to 4,000 Mbps, offering strong performance for mobile devices.
Graphics and Display:
- The Adreno 830 GPU will power the graphics and support displays with a maximum resolution of 3,840 x 2,560 pixels at a refresh rate of 144 Hz. However, not all manufacturers may opt to use this resolution, depending on their device configurations.
Variants:
Two different versions of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 are expected:
- SM8750P: A version that supports only Wi-Fi.
- SM8750: The more advanced version, which includes support for mmWave 5G and sub-6GHz bands, makes it a high-performance option for flagship devices.
Connectivity:
The chipset is expected to support advanced connectivity options, including:
- Wi-Fi 7
- Bluetooth 5.4
- Ultra-Wideband (UWB) for precise location tracking.
Processor Details:
The CPU will feature two high-performance Oryon cores clocked at up to 4.1 GHz and six efficiency-focused Oryon cores running at 2.8 GHz. This architecture aims to balance performance and power efficiency, optimizing battery life while delivering high-end computing power.
Expected Devices:
- Flagship smartphones from brands such as Samsung Galaxy S25, Xiaomi 15, and OnePlus 13 are expected to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 once it launches, likely toward the end of 2024.
