Qualcomm Unveils New Snapdragon G Series for Handheld Gaming

On Monday (17), Qualcomm introduced its latest Snapdragon G Series chips lineup, designed specifically for handheld gaming devices—a market traditionally dominated by Ryzen CPUs. The new generation features three models, all equipped with 8-core processors, with the key difference being the Adreno GPU configuration, ranging from entry-level to high-end performance.

Qualcomm has confirmed that Ayaneo, Onexsugar, and Retroid Pocket will be among the first brands to release handhelds powered by these new chips.

“Snapdragon G Series Games platforms are redefining moving games with advanced performance and immersive experiences. These state -of -the -art Snapdragon G Series processors will boost the future of laptops, supporting a variety of game types for manufacturers and developers to innovate,” said Micah Knapp, senior director of product management at Qualcomm.

All Snapdragon G Series SoCs come equipped with Kryo CPU cores, but their performance varies depending on the SKU. Some models feature more high-performance cores, while others prioritize power efficiency. Additionally, each chip includes a Prime core, which delivers the highest processing power within the lineup.
