AMD has confirmed that the RDNA 4 GPUs are expected to launch in early 2025. The upcoming Radeon RX 8000 mobile series is anticipated to feature four models, but they will likely be based on just two different GPUs. This information comes from Golden Pig Upgrade, a well-known leaker from China with a solid track record.
According to the source, AMD plans to replace the current Radeon RX 7900M (Navi 31) and RX 7800M (Navi 32) notebook GPUs with new models that retain similar configurations—16 GB of memory with a 256-bit bus for one and 12 GB with a 192-bit bus for the other. These specs are in line with the RDNA 3-based GPUs. The total graphics power (TGP) for both models is expected to range between 80W and 175W.
For the entry-level segment, the successors to the Navi 33-based GPUs (RX 7600M and RX 7600M XT) will also come with 8 GB of memory and a 128-bit interface. The power consumption for the first model is expected to fall between 75W and 150W, while the second will likely range from 50W to 130W.

RDNA 3 GPU should continue on Radeon RX 8000
Interestingly, the leak from Golden Pig Upgrade also hints at a segment even below what is currently considered entry-level. A fifth GPU is expected to join the Radeon RX 8000 series for notebooks, using the same Navi 33 chip found in the Radeon RX 7600M.
However, the exact names of these potential new GPUs weren’t disclosed, though they will likely follow the Navi 4x naming convention. Earlier rumors suggest that these chips could be labeled as Navi 48 and Navi 44, with the more powerful SKUs utilizing the first GPU and the others using the second.
The limited number of RDNA 4 GPUs in the Radeon RX 8000 lineup isn’t surprising, as there have been reports indicating AMD’s reduced focus on competing at the high end of the market, which is currently dominated by NVIDIA’s RTX xx80 / xx90 series.
