Fans have been eagerly awaiting a PC version of Red Dead Redemption, and it appears Rockstar Games may finally be delivering. An update on the game’s official PlayStation Store page this Monday (12) hints at the much-anticipated port.
Sony seems to have prematurely updated the game’s page, including a description that mentions Red Dead Redemption coming to computers. The description states, “Experience the epic Western adventure that defined a generation — now for the first time on PC.”
Interestingly, the description also references “full single-player experiences from both games.” While the context is unclear, it could suggest that Red Dead Redemption 2 might also be heading to PC.
“Featuring the full single-player experiences of both games, including the bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition, Red Dead Redemption features all of the 2023 console upgrades as well as PC-specific enhancements – including support for higher resolutions and frame rates, multiple displays and other accessories, and spatial surround sound.”
The page was quickly taken down, but not before it was captured by the profile Wario64, famous on X (formerly Twitter) for leaking news from the gaming industry ahead of time.
When will Red Dead Redemption be released on PC?
Rockstar Games has not yet officially confirmed a PC version of Red Dead Redemption. However, the update to the game’s PlayStation Store page strongly suggests that an announcement is imminent.
Given Rockstar’s timeline, which includes releasing GTA 6 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in 2025 without a PC version, they might be planning to launch John Marston’s adventures on computers around the same time. This could fill a significant gap and address the many requests from fans.
Originally released in 2010 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Red Dead Redemption received a remastered version for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2023. It is likely this version will soon be available for PC players, bringing the classic Western saga to a new audience.
