Samsung Galaxy S25 Series: New Details Emerge from FCC Certification

By Aayush

Samsung is gearing up for the release of its Galaxy S25 series, and all three models were recently spotted in FCC certification documents, offering insights into their charging capabilities and other specifications.

As with previous generations, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will support 45W wired charging, allowing the device to fully charge in under an hour. For reference, tests on its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, showed a charging time of around 1 hour and 10 minutes with a standard 25W charger included in the box. This power level surpasses that of the iPhone 16 series, one of Samsung’s main competitors, but lags behind Chinese models like the Realme GT 7 Pro, which boasts 120W fast charging.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus will continue with 25W wired charging, showing no improvement from previous generations. Interestingly, wireless charging capabilities have been downgraded from 15W on the S24 models to just 9W on the new series.

The certification also reveals that Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology will be limited to the Galaxy S25 Plus and S25 Ultra. This feature, which allows precise location tracking, will be absent from the base Galaxy S25 model.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to feature ergonomic improvements for better comfort. However, the overall lineup appears to bring relatively modest updates, with the most significant changes concentrated on the Ultra variant.

Samsung has not announced an official launch date, but the Galaxy S25 series is likely to debut in January 2025.
