Samsung launches DU9000, an entry-level TV with a 98-inch screen

Samsung has unveiled the DU9000, a new addition to its line of giant-screen televisions. This release is notable for its 98-inch screen, making it the first entry-level model in Samsung’s lineup to feature a display of this size. The DU9000 is part of the Crystal UHD series, including the DU8000 and DU7700 models, previously capped at 83 inches.

Positioned as an “All-in-One” TV, the DU9000 has various built-in features that enhance its versatility. Key among these is the Gaming Hub, a feature available in previous models that supports cloud gaming via Xbox Game Pass or Nvidia GeForce Now. Samsung TV Plus, the brand’s complimentary streaming service, offers a range of content categories without requiring an additional subscription.

A new feature in this generation is support for SmartThings, enabling users to control the TV and smart home devices directly from their television. This functionality allows, for instance, the ability to adjust compatible lights using the remote control, providing convenience and integration without interrupting your viewing experience. All data is safeguarded by Knox Security, ensuring user privacy and the security of both the network and the TV.

The DU9000 also supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz through HDMI 2.1, complemented by Motion Xcelerator technology. This feature improves gameplay on compatible consoles by delivering faster frame rates and smoother visuals.

To enhance the audio experience, the television includes Virtual Motion Sound and Sound Sync technologies, which increase the sense of immersion when paired with a compatible soundbar. Additionally, the built-in Adaptive Sound function automatically adjusts audio quality based on the scene, providing an optimized listening experience.

The DU9000 is available exclusively on Samsung’s official website in a 98-inch model, with a suggested retail price of $3,799.99.
