Samsung may have unintentionally revealed details about One UI 7, the next iteration of its Android-based interface. The Spanish version of its official website briefly showcased the update’s features last Friday (29). Among the highlights were a refreshed design for the lock screen and notification list, both of which closely resemble iOS.
Efforts to access the page later were unsuccessful, as the content had been removed—likely signaling that the reveal was premature. However, the leaked details align with Samsung’s focus on AI integration and a more modern visual design, key pillars for One UI 7. Here’s a summary of the rumored updates:

What will change in One UI 7
Samsung’s upcoming One UI 7 update, built on Android 15, is set to introduce significant visual changes to its mobile devices. Recently leaked images from the official website showcase redesigned icons for native apps like Camera, Clock, and Phone. These icons now feature vibrant colors and gradients, giving the interface a fresh, modern look.
Notably, two new visual features appear to draw inspiration from iOS. The lock screen’s live activity tab closely resembles Apple’s Dynamic Island, first seen on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. Similarly, the revamped quick actions panel is now divided into blocks, echoing the design language of Apple’s operating system.
Another rumored enhancement is the addition of separate on-screen gestures for accessing notifications and the control panel—an approach already familiar to iOS users.
Beyond visual updates, the website highlights innovative AI-powered tools arriving with this update. These include Circle to Search, Studio Retrato (a feature that transforms photos or sketches into AI-generated drawings), and real-time call translation. Initially introduced in 2024, these features are expected to roll out to all compatible devices with the next One UI update.
When will One UI 7 arrive?
Samsung has confirmed that One UI 7, based on Android 15, will begin rolling out in January 2025, debuting with the new Galaxy S25 series. While the Beta version of the interface hasn’t been released for international testers yet, it’s expected to become available in the coming weeks.
It’s important to note that Samsung typically rolls out One UI updates in phases, meaning not all devices will receive the new features immediately. For reference, the global launch of One UI 6 occurred in October 2023, but it didn’t reach some regions until December of the same year. A similar gradual release is likely for One UI 7.
