Samsung has rolled out the One UI interface update for its smart TVs, which are now available for models released in 2023 and later running on the Tizen 8.0 operating system. The announcement was made during the Samsung Developer Conference 2024 earlier this month, and the update started to be released on Monday, October 14, according to Sam Mobile.
This update aims to unify the interfaces across Samsung devices, enhancing the brand’s identity for users.
After updating an OLED S90C TV with the new One UI, Sam Mobile highlighted several improvements, including expanded features in the Game Bar. Additionally, many UI elements from Samsung smartphones have been adapted for the TV interface, featuring familiar elements like the rotating dots animation and icons for applications such as Bixby, Gallery, Samsung Internet, and SmartThings.
New features
The recent One UI update for Samsung’s smart TVs introduces several new features to enhance user experience. Among these updates are the new “Live” and “Applications” tabs, which offer users easy access to the content they want to enjoy. A “Watch Later” tool has been added to the content details screen, allowing users to save items they wish to watch later.
Furthermore, improvements have been made to the “Search” tab, where users will now find suggestions for recently searched content and related recommendations, making it easier to discover new shows and movies. These enhancements streamline navigation and make content consumption more convenient for users.
