Split Fiction PC Requirements

By Aayush

Hazelight Studios has officially revealed the PC system requirements for Split Fiction, its latest game set to launch on March 6, 2025. Like the studio’s previous titles, the game is designed to be accessible, meaning players won’t need a high-end PC to enjoy the experience.

The minimum requirements are quite modest. Players will need a 6th-generation Intel Core i5 or a 2nd-generation AMD Ryzen 5 processor. On the GPU side, the game will run with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 or an AMD Radeon RX 470, making it accessible to those with older hardware.

Minimum requirements
Processor Intel Core i5-6600k or AMD Ryzen 5 2600k
RAM 16 GB
Video card Nvidia Geforce RTX 970 o AMD Radeon RX 470
Storage 85GB Free Space
Desired quality 1080p resolution, in 30 fps and “low” quality

The only demanding requirement for Split Fiction on older PCs is its 16GB RAM requirement. So, if you’re using a system with only 8GB of RAM, you might need an upgrade to run Hazelight Studios’ latest title.

Of course, these specs apply to running the game on low settings, at 1080p resolution and 30 FPS. Under these conditions, you’ll be able to experience the full story, though not at its best visual quality.

Hazelight has also shared the recommended specs for running Split Fiction at better settings and performance for those with higher-end PCs.

The recommended split fiction requirements

The recommended requirements are where Hazelight Studios truly showcases what Split Fiction is capable of. To run the game smoothly at 60 FPS and 1440p resolution on high settings, players will need at least an Intel Core i7-11700K or an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor.

These specs ensure a much better visual experience, taking full advantage of the game’s design and performance optimizations.

Desired quality 1440p resolution, in 60 fps and “high” quality

As you can see, the GPU side also shows a slightly higher requirement: you need to have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or higher to run the experience to your full potential.

Split Fiction production

It’s worth noting that Split Fiction was developed using Unreal Engine 5, yet its system requirements are not as demanding as other games built on the same engine. This suggests that Hazelight Studios may rely less on resource-heavy features like Lumen Ray Tracing or Nanite virtualized geometry, which are commonly used to push graphical fidelity to the next level.

Additionally, Hazelight has not confirmed whether Split Fiction will support upscaling technologies like DLSS (NVIDIA), FSR (AMD), or XeSS (Intel) at launch. While NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel may release driver optimizations for the game, players shouldn’t expect built-in support for these AI-powered performance boosters—at least for now.

The initiative and the Originals

Split Fiction is part of Electronic Arts’ EA Originals initiative, which supports and publishes projects from independent studios. This program aims to amplify smaller developers, helping bring their unique experiences to a global audience.

This marks Hazelight Studios’ third game under the EA Originals banner, following A Way Out and It Takes Two—the latter of which won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2021. Other notable titles that have emerged from the program include Sea of Solitude and Tales of Kenzera: Zau, further highlighting EA Originals’ commitment to creative and innovative storytelling in gaming.
