Spotify has introduced an automatic podcast transcription tool that converts spoken words into synchronized text, enhancing accessibility and catering to situations where traditional listening isn’t feasible.
This feature will roll out on the application in the coming weeks and is part of Spotify’s continued efforts to enhance the podcasting experience.
Additionally, this feature will enable content creators to enrich their audio programs by adding images that align with the conversation in each episode.
This enhancement comes as Spotify celebrates reaching a significant milestone with 100 million listeners, a remarkable increase from 2019. This announcement coincides with International Podcast Day, and the automatic audio transcription function will be gradually released to users in the upcoming weeks.
Regional availability and support for multiple languages have not been specified. Still, artificial intelligence will play a pivotal role in converting speech to text and potentially translating content into various languages.
How To Enable Automatic Podcast Transcription on Spotify
Once this feature is available, you’ll find it on the podcast’s playback page. Also, there is a Manual Method that does not support all Podcasts.
You can quickly turn it on by scrolling through the screen and choosing the reading option. It will follow along with the podcast, even if you skip forward or backward during an episode.
