Microsoft gears up to unveil its first artificial intelligence-powered PCs: the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6. These cutting-edge devices are poised to deliver unparalleled performance and efficiency, while also ushering in a new era of intelligent features driven by artificial intelligence seamlessly integrated into Windows 11.
According to exclusive information shared by renowned tech journalist Zac Bowden for Windows Central, Microsoft’s upcoming AI-enabled Surface lineup aims to redefine the way we interact with our computers.
By harnessing the power of advanced machine learning algorithms, these innovative devices will pioneer intelligent capabilities that promise to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and provide a truly personalized computing experience.
From intelligent task automation to context-aware assistance and beyond, the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 are set to blur the lines between hardware and software, elevating the user experience to new heights.
With an eye on Apple with Qualcomm
The Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 are engineered to surpass their direct competitors, namely the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro. Equipped with the latest processors Intel Core Ultra and Qualcomm Snapdragon, these devices promise significant enhancements in performance and energy efficiency, ensuring all-day battery life.
Of particular interest are the models featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor. Long-awaited, this processor is poised to be the first credible contender to Apple’s highly acclaimed M processors, renowned for their exceptional performance and energy efficiency, which have propelled MacBook to new heights.
The release of the new models will occur in two phases: the Intel models are initially set to debut in April, followed by the Qualcomm models in June of the same year.
Surface Pro 10

The Surface Pro 10 is expected to maintain a similar design to the Pro 9, featuring an OLED screen with improved anti-glare properties, increased brightness, and compatibility with HDR content. The display will also sport rounded corners for a sleeker look.
There’s speculation that Microsoft may introduce a version of the Surface Pro 10 with a lower resolution than the standard 2880×1900 pixels, targeted at the more basic models of the product.
Moreover, indications suggest that the Surface Pro 10 will include an NFC reader for business users and an enhanced wide-angle webcam, thanks to Windows Studio Effects.
According to Zac Bowden, this new iteration of the Surface Pro range may come in new colors and feature a revamped Type Cover that incorporates a dedicated Copilot button.
Surface Laptop 6

The Surface Laptop 6 is set to debut with a refreshed design featuring thinner screen edges and rounded corners. Additionally, it will introduce a new haptic touchpad and a dedicated key for Copilot functionality. The laptop will be available in two sizes: 13.8 inches and 15 inches, catering to different user preferences.
In terms of connectivity, the Surface Laptop 6 will receive upgrades, offering a selection of ports including two USB-C and one USB-A on the left side, as well as the magnetic charger Surface Connect on the right. These enhancements will facilitate seamless interaction with a variety of devices and accessories.
Windows 11 and the “IA Explorer” experience
The upcoming devices will be compatible with the next wave of Windows 11 AI experiences, slated for release later this year. One of the standout features is the AI Explorer, described as an “advanced Copilot” experience. This feature enables users to search for specific moments using natural language across any application.
With the AI Explorer, users can interact with their devices using natural language and request various tasks or search for information stored on the device. For instance, users can say commands like “Find the documents I sent to Elvira by email 3 days ago,” and the AI Explorer will locate them accordingly. This capability promises to enhance user experience and streamline productivity by leveraging the power of natural language processing.
When will Surface Pro 10 & Laptop 6 be released?
According to Zac Bowden, Microsoft has chosen March 21 as the day to unveil these new devices. However, Tom Warren from The Verge suggests that only minor product updates targeting business customers will be launched on this day.
The release of the Surface Pro 10 featuring an OLED screen and versions with the new chips may be postponed, requiring users to wait a bit longer for their debut.
