Threads has introduced a new feature for users in the United States, making it more straightforward to explore trending topics. A label above posts highlights relevant topics, and clicking on it opens a new window where users can filter content using “Top” and “Recent” tabs.
This feature is exclusive to the United States, with no announced plans for a global rollout.
Trending Topic Highlights
The social network started testing the option to view trending topics in the United States in March and expanded it to all users in the country by April. Now, the platform is introducing tags on posts to make content discovery even easier. Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced on Tuesday (30) that the new feature aims to streamline finding posts and engaging in relevant conversations.
“We’re rolling out a blue label above posts related to a recent trending topic. You can tap the label to view posts related to the same topic,” Mosseri explained.
Threads has been actively exploring innovative ways to enhance content discovery. In May, the company launched a multi-feed experience akin to TweetDeck for its desktop users and is currently testing a similar interface with a select group of iOS users.
