Threads now shows when you are online | How to disable it

By Aayush

Threads has introduced a new feature that displays a green dot on a user’s profile picture, indicating when they are online. This update was announced on Tuesday (15) by Adam Mosseri, head of the social network. However, users can disable this online status in the app’s settings if they prefer not to show their activity.

According to Mosseri, the goal of this feature is to encourage more real-time interactions by showing when someone is available.

Like WhatsApp, the online status is only visible to accounts with the feature enabled. If you turn it off, you won’t be able to see the status of others either.

The rollout of this feature is gradual, so it may take some time before it appears for all users.
