A new image text editor was initially released on WhatsApp for Android beta testers. Beta users report that the new interface offers tools and customization options that enhance the text entry experience.
As part of the iOS preparations, WhatsApp’s new text editor was first shown in January. It features the same font options as Instagram Stories: font options are at the bottom of the screen; the color palette is on the right; and last but not least, you can choose the background color and alignment (left, right, and centered).
The new interface has new font options, including Calistoga, Courier Prime, Damion, Exo 2, and Morning Breeze.
It is worth mentioning that WhatsApp’s text editing tool applies to photos, videos, and GIFs sent by messenger, so it is used quite often. The new interface, despite still maintaining the simplicity of the resource, makes the experience more robust and intuitive, finally solving the rudimentary aspect of the previous tool that only offered font and color alternatives.
Only Available for Beta Testers
The new WhatsApp text editor is currently only available to testers, but it may not be long before it is available to everyone.
