WhatsApp Now Highlights Draft Messages in the app

By Aayush

WhatsApp has begun rolling out a new feature allowing users to access draft messages easily. Starting Thursday (14), unfinished messages will appear at the top of your conversation list, making it easier to return to and complete a message before sending it.

This change occurs automatically when you’re composing a message and haven’t sent it yet. When you return to the main screen of the Android or iOS app, you’ll see the draft at the top of your chats, even if no new messages have been received. The draft will be labeled as “Draft,” all you need to do is open the chat to continue editing your message.

Previously, WhatsApp did preserve unfinished messages, but they were harder to find, as you had to open the conversation to locate the draft. This often became an inconvenience, especially when dealing with old chats or starting conversations with new contacts, making finding and editing unsent messages more difficult.

How to create a draft on WhatsApp

Follow these steps on the Android and iOS apps:

  1. Open a conversation;
  2. Enter any text in the message creation field;
  3. Leave the conversation without sending the content;
  4. Open the WhatsApp conversation list and look for “Draft” among the items at the top;
  5. Send the message whenever you want.

To delete a draft, follow these steps:

  1. Access a conversation with unfinished text;
  2. Delete the content of the message creation field.

If you have not yet received the feature, it is recommended that the app be updated and that you wait for the new feature to arrive.
