WhatsApp is working on a new feature for its Android app that will let users mark all conversations as read at once. This feature, available on iOS for years, is finally being developed for Android.
The news comes from WABetaInfo, which noted that the feature is currently in development in version 2.24.18.11 of WhatsApp Beta for Android. However, it’s not yet available for testing.
Mark everything as read on WhatsApp
With this new feature, Android users will be able to quickly mark all their conversations as read through an options menu in the chat list.
This is especially useful for those who have many unread messages, as it allows them to manage their chats more efficiently without needing to open each conversation individually. Instead, they can mark everything as read in just one step.
Other functions under development
WhatsApp is currently developing several other features that could soon be rolled out to all users.
- One of the upcoming features will allow community administrators to control the visibility of group conversations. This means they can choose to make certain chats private, accessible only to invited members.
- WhatsApp is also testing a new tool for managing stickers in bulk. This feature will let users select and handle multiple stickers at once, making it easier to organize or delete them.
- The platform is introducing effects and filters for video calls, similar to those found on popular video conferencing apps. Some testers already have access to these, and they could be widely available soon.
These features aim to enhance the user experience by offering more control, better organization tools, and added fun in video communication.
