After months of speculation, leaks, and rumors, NVIDIA officially announced its new GeForce RTX 50 series, powered by the Blackwell architecture, at CES 2025. The lineup consists of four distinct GPUs, all set to hit the market soon.
While the exact launch dates for each model may vary, it’s important to note that the release will be global, with availability in most regions. Let’s dive into the launch details and pricing for these highly anticipated GPUs.
GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070
NVIDIA’s mid-range GPU offerings in the RTX 50 series will include the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070, both expected to arrive in February 2025, though specific dates have yet to be confirmed. These models will be priced at $749 and $599, making them $50 cheaper than their predecessors.
According to NVIDIA, the RTX 5070 will deliver performance on par with the RTX 4090, but at a lower cost and reduced power consumption. These GPUs are likely to rival AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070, although details regarding performance and pricing for these AMD cards have not yet been disclosed.
GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080
The two most powerful GPUs in the GeForce RTX 50 series, the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 are set to launch on January 30, 2025. The RTX 5090 will be priced at $1,999, while the RTX 5080 will cost $999. These models will define the high-end graphics card market, as AMD has indicated it will not compete in this segment with its Radeon RX 90 series.
Interestingly, NVIDIA did not mention the entry-level segment, particularly the RTX 5060 series, in its announcement of the GeForce RTX 50 Blackwell GPUs.
In addition to the new RT and Tensor cores, the RTX 50 series will leverage the power of NVIDIA DLSS 4. This includes the Multi Frame Generation feature, exclusive to Blackwell GPUs, which promises up to 10x performance gains compared to running a game natively.
