At the end of each month, different versions of Windows receive an optional cumulative update to test new fixes and features. This time, it’s Windows 10 22H2’s turn with the release of cumulative update KB5041582, which includes several bug fixes.
As Windows 10 enters its final stage of support, these updates will primarily focus on bug fixes and security enhancements. It’s now rare to see new features being introduced in these updates.
What’s new in Windows 10 22H2 update KB5041582
This optional update for Windows 10 doesn’t introduce any notable new features. As a reminder, Windows 10 is in its final phase of support, which is set to end in October 2025. After this date, Windows 10 will no longer receive any updates.
Fixes in KB5041582 update
Notable changes in this update include fixing a memory leak issue when a combo box had input focus and the window was closed. The update includes refreshed country and operator configuration profiles for certain mobile service providers.
A problem with Bluetooth has also been resolved, where some applications became unresponsive due to a memory leak on the device.
The update further addresses a system issue that caused it to stop responding when accessing symbolic links. It also corrects an error related to the Unified Write Filter (UWF) and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). This error previously caused an SCCM task to fail when reactivating UWF, leading to a deadlock that prevented the device from rebooting properly.
