On Tuesday, we discussed the KB5040442 update for Windows 11 versions 22H2 and 23H2. However, we must not overlook Windows 11 24H2, which has also been updated. Although very few people have this version installed, it’s essential to pay attention to its improvements and new features due to its recent release.
Windows 11 24H2 is currently only available for new Copilot+ PCs, but it can be installed on any computer using the available ISOs. Today, we’ll cover the update KB5040435.

- DWM.exe Stability: Fixed an issue that could cause DWM.exe to stop responding.
- Country and Operator Configuration Asset (COSA)**: Updated profiles for selected mobile operators.
- Unified Write Filter (UWF): Addressed an issue where calls to the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) API to shut down or restart a system resulted in an “Access Denied” exception.
- Input Method Editor (IME): Fixed an issue where the IME candidate list was not displayed or in the wrong position.
