Windows 11 Build 26120.3548 Tailored for Copilot+ PCs
Local semantic search
Finding your documents, photos, and settings in Windows 11 is now easier on Copilot+ PCs with AMD and Intel® processors. Microsoft has introduced semantic indexing alongside traditional search, allowing for a more intuitive way to locate files and settings.
Whether you’re searching in File Explorer, the Windows search box, or Settings, you can simply describe what you’re looking for in your own words—no need to remember exact file names or keywords. For example:
- “Bridge at sunset” to find a photo.
- “Europe travel budget” to locate a document.
- “Change my theme” to adjust system settings.
Powered by the NPU with over 40 TOPS (trillions of operations per second) on Copilot+ PCs, this advanced search functionality even works offline, ensuring a seamless experience no matter where you are.
To customize how Windows indexes files on your Copilot+ PC, go to:
Settings > Privacy & security > Search in Windows, where you can adjust which locations are indexed or enable “Enhanced” search to index your entire PC.
Current Limitations & Future Expansions
- Right now, search for settings (e.g., “Change my theme”) only works within the Settings app, but in the future, it will also work directly from the Windows search box on the taskbar.
- This feature currently supports six languages: German, Chinese, Spanish, French, English, and Japanese.
Supported File Formats
- Documents:
.txt, .pdf, .docx, .doc, .rtf, .pptx, .ppt, .xls, .xlsx
- Images:
.jpg/.jpeg, .png, .gif, .bmp, .ico
For more details, check the official Microsoft documentation.
Find photos saved in the cloud with improved Windows Search.
Microsoft has also introduced enhanced cloud photo search for Copilot+ PCs with AMD and Intel®, making it easier to find images stored both locally and in the cloud.
How It Works
Simply describe the image in your own words, such as “European castles” or “summer picnics,” and search using:
- The File Explorer search bar (top-right corner).
- The Windows search box on the taskbar.
Now, cloud-stored photos will appear alongside local files in search results. Additionally, exact keyword matches within cloud-stored documents will also show up, making it even easier to find the files you need.

You can try this new cloud search experience today with your personal OneDrive by signing in with your Microsoft account while connected to the internet. If you’re using OneDrive with a work or school account (Entra ID), your search results will only show matching keywords from your cloud files’ text—not photos.
In the future, third-party cloud services will also be able to integrate this feature, with more documentation coming soon.
Ongoing Improvements & Availability
We’re excited to introduce a more seamless way to search for cloud content in Windows and will continue refining search results and features over time.
These enhanced Windows Search experiences, including cloud-stored photo search, are rolling out gradually to Windows Insiders on Copilot+ PCs. If you don’t see these features right away, they’ll become available soon.
Important: You may need to restart your PC once or twice for the improvements to take effect.

- Fixed an issue where the option to get the latest updates in Windows Update settings was not displayed correctly and would automatically turn off.
Known Issues in Build 26120.3585
General:
- (Warning) If you join the Beta Channel on Windows 11, version 24H2, after installing Build 26120.3360, you may need to update twice to reach the latest build. This is a temporary issue.
- After restarting your PC via Settings > System > Recovery, the build version may incorrectly display as Build 26100 instead of Build 26120. This will not affect future updates.
Recall:
- (Warning) Update your Microsoft 365 apps to the latest version to ensure proper access to specific documents.
- Some users may experience issues where Recall does not automatically save snapshots, and its settings cannot be enabled in Windows Settings. A fix is in progress.
- Recall binaries are still stored on the disk when toggling the feature on/off. A future update will completely remove them when the feature is disabled.
Click to Do:
- (Warning) Smart text actions are now moderated locally for better security, replacing cloud-based processing. Since they are now fully local, they are also available in Recall.
- (Warning) If image-related actions are missing, ensure that Microsoft Photos and Paint are updated from the Microsoft Store.
- Some users may receive additional context when using smart text actions powered by Phi Silica AI.
Improved Windows Search:
- (Warning) For the best experience on Copilot+ PCs, keep your PC connected during the initial search indexing. You can check indexing status in Settings > Privacy & security > Search in Windows.
Settings:
- (New) Fix in progress for an issue where Settings crashes when navigating to System > Power & Battery.
- (New) In Bluetooth & Devices > Cameras, text in advanced camera options may not load properly.
File Explorer:
- Fix in progress for an issue causing File Explorer crashes for some users. As a workaround, launching File Explorer in a different folder (e.g., via Search or Run) should help.
- Working on a fix for crashes when renaming or moving certain files.
Taskbar:
- Fix in progress for an issue where taskbar icons do not scale correctly when switching to tablet mode.
Task Manager:
- After adding the CPU Utility column, the System IPR process may always show 0% usage.
- The CPU graphs on the Performance page still use older CPU utility calculations.
These issues are being actively worked on and will be addressed in future Windows Insider updates.
