Windows 11’s Widgets panel returns to the right side of the screen, like in Windows 10

With the recent Build 26120.1542 update to the Windows 11 Dev Channel, Microsoft has introduced a notable change to the placement of Widgets. The Widgets panel has been moved to the right side of the screen, aligning it more closely with the layout familiar to Windows 10 users.

Windows 11 Widgets will be placed on the right when the Start Menu is on the left.

In Windows 10, widgets and notifications were accessed from the right side of the screen, offering a quick way to get information without disrupting the user’s workflow. However, Windows 11 initially moved the Widgets to the left side for a new look and feel.

With the latest update, Microsoft has reverted to placing the Widgets panel on the right side of the screen. Microsoft responds to user feedback by bringing back the Windows 10 experience.

Moving the Widgets back to the right side in Windows 11 is a response to user feedback. Many people felt that the Widgets’ new left-side position disrupted their long-standing habits from previous Windows versions. With this update, users who prefer a left-aligned Start Menu can enjoy a more familiar experience.

This change restores the Windows 10 workflow, where the Widgets panel appears on the right, allowing easy access to news, weather, and other key information without interfering with the Start Menu or pinned applications on the taskbar.
