After introducing the Smart Band 9 in China last month, Xiaomi is now gearing up to release the global version of its widely popular smart bracelet. A leaked announcement from the company indicates that the product will be officially launched this Friday, the 16th, and will come at a fairly reasonable price.
Xiaomi’s official website in the Netherlands lists the Smart Band 9 with a price tag of €39. This pricing is consistent with what was charged for the previous generation in the region.
The site also notes that the Smart Band 9 will be available in four bracelet colors: blue, silver, black, and pink.
Since no official announcement has been made yet, there might be changes to the information currently listed on the website, including the pricing.
The features and specifications for the global model of the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 are expected to mirror those of the Chinese model. These include:
- A 1.62-inch OLED display
- Water resistance up to 50 meters (5 ATM)
- A heart rate sensor that is 16% more accurate
- Sleep analysis with 7.9% improved accuracy
- The ability to monitor over 150 sports activities
- A battery life of up to 21 days or nine days with always-on display enabled
- Bluetooth 5.4 for connectivity
One downside is that the announcement doesn’t mention the inclusion of NFC in the global model, a feature available in the Chinese version. This isn’t surprising, as NFC for contactless payments is often exclusive to the Asian market.
The release date for Brazil hasn’t been specified yet, but the launch is anticipated to occur in the next few weeks.
